Despite late withdrawals by Kas and Glyn, we were still able to field a strong team in our opening Division 2 match against Crewe 'D' on Monday evening.
A new look Fenton team included three of our new Members - Steve Hill, Sean Taverner and Evan Clark - all making their league debuts for the Club. Unfortunately we were not able to emulate the 'C' team's opening result, as we were held to a 2-2 draw. Petru got us off to a good start with a straightforward win on board 1, but we were then pegged back when Sean lost on board 3. The games on boards 2 and 4 both petered out into draws, with no chances for either Steve or Evan to make any headway.
