The 'B' team travelled to Alsager 'A' last night, hoping to make up some ground at the top of Division 3. Unfortunately things didn't go according to plan as we were held to a 2-2 draw by the second from bottom team. Another win for Petru on board 1, plus draws for myself and Stuart on boards 2 and 4, gave us a share of the points. We remain in 3rd place in the table, 5 points behind the leaders, Crewe 'B'. With matches running out, realistically our best hope is to catch 2nd placed Newcastle 'C'. Even this will be a difficult task as we trail them by 2 points and they have a match in hand. Welcome to the Fenton Chess Club website. We are based at the Longton Snooker & Pool Club, 37 Normacot Road, Longton, ST3 1PL. We welcome players of all abilities, from beginner to experienced player. We meet on Tuesday evenings from 19:30 until 22:30. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate young children.
