The 'A' team were unexpectedly held to a 2.5 - 2.5 draw in Division 2 by Cheddleton 'D' on Monday evening. However, the single point takes us to the top of the table, level on points with Cheddleton 'B', but with a superior Game Points score and 2 matches in hand. We also have 2 matches in hand of the 2 teams in joint 3rd place, Crewe 'A' and Macclesfield. but are 4 points clear of them. Another win for Petru on board 1, plus draws for Glyn, Max and Grenville on boards 2, 4 and 5 gave us a share of the points. The return match against Cheddleton 'D' was due to have been played this Friday but has now been postponed because of the unavailability of several of our players.
Next up for the 'A' team is a difficult away match against in-form Macclesfield on Monday evening.
