The 'A' team were held to a 2-2 draw by bottom of the table Alsager 'A' last night, putting a severe dent in our Division 1 title aspirations. We got off to a flying start, with wins by Petru and Chris on boards 2 and 3 sending us into an early 2-0 lead. Needing only a draw from the remaining 2 games, Alex and Kas were unable to oblige, leaving us with just a share of the points. We still sit in 3rd place, 3 points behind the leaders, Crewe 'A', but still with a game in hand. However, we still have to play Crewe 'A' in our final match of the season, so all is not lost - well not yet anyway !! Out first night at the Town Hall went pretty well, although it was disappointing that not as many Members as expected turned up.
There is no Club night next Monday as it is Easter Monday, so we next meet on Monday 17th, when the 'B' team, still looking for their first win of the season, entertain Crewe 'D' in a Division 2 match.
