The 'B' team are still struggling to win a match in Division 2. Things were against us from the start when Glyn had to withdraw on the morning of the match due to a family illness. His replacement, Petru, then failed to appear for his lift to the match, so Chris Brian was drafted in at the last minute to make up the team. Cheddleton 'B', who have also been unable to win a match this season, sent a strong team, outrating us by 761 points. Against this backdrop we did very well to get a 2-2 draw. Chris was an early loser on board 4 and Dylan went a piece down on board 3 early on before succumbing to the inevitable. Welcome to the Fenton Chess Club website. We are based at the Longton Snooker & Pool Club, 37 Normacot Road, Longton, ST3 1PL. We welcome players of all abilities, from beginner to experienced player. We meet on Tuesday evenings from 19:30 until 22:30. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate young children.
