The 'A' team shared the points with Crewe 'B' in a 2-2 draw last night, in our opening Division 1 match of the season. We we were slightly outgraded overall but got off to a good start, with Chris H getting an early win on board 2. Glyn followed this up with a great win on board 3, where he sacrificed his Queen for a Rook and a Knight, putting us 2-0 up. Dylan was unable to overcome a 250 point rating difference on board 4 and eventually succumbed. At the other end of the match, Gerald was surprising beaten on board 1 by an opponent who WAS able to overcome a 250 point rating difference !! All in all it was a decent start to the season, considering we were without Petru, Kas and Ray. You can click here to view last night's match score card.
