Fenton 'B' finally wrapped up the Division 2 title with a 2.5 - 1.5 win against Meir last night. However, it was a very close run thing as Meir, without a win all season, put up a great fight in a match in which they were heavily outgraded. Our nerves were fraying as Meir went into the lead early on in the evening, with Sam drawing on board 2 and Dylan losing on board 3. Kas brought us level with a win on board 1, before Mycle wrapped things up with a win on board 4. We have finished level with Cheddleton 'D' on match points, but we had a game point difference of +15, compared to +14 for Cheddleton - it could not have been any closer. Congratulations to everybody who has turned out for the team over the course of the season and commiserations to Cheddleton.
In other news, the South Cheshire Shield kicks off on Monday 23rd May, with Fenton at home against Crewe 'B', in Mycle's first match as Team Captain.
There was also a Club Championship match played last night, with Chris B. beating Gennady.
