The 'A' team played Holmes Chapel 'A' for the second time in 5 days last night. Unfortunately for us they fielded a stronger team than last week and we weren't able to replicate our previous performance, going down by 2.5 - 1.5 in a close fought match. Petru and Kas were both beaten on boards 1 and 2, but there was another good performance from Chris Hankey, who won his game on board 3. Dylan Whitney made his 'A' team debut on board 4 and got a solid draw against a player rated 263 points higher than him, and was actually a pawn up in an endgame when a draw was agreed. We welcome players of all abilities, from beginner to experienced player. We meet on Tuesday evenings from 19:30 until 22:30. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate young children.
