Welcome to the Fenton Chess Club website. We are based at the Community Cafe within the old Fenton Town Hall in Albert Square, Fenton, ST4 3AF. We welcome players of all abilities, from beginner to Grandmaster. We meet on Monday evenings from 7:00 until 10:00. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate young children. 'C' Team Title Hopes Evaporate
Any lingering hopes that we might have had of winning the Division 4 title evaporated last night when we were beaten 2.5 - 1.5 by bottom of the table Cheddleton 'F'. We were weakened by the late withdrawal of Derek Whitehurst but Stuart stepped into the breach on board 4 and secured his usual draw. There was an excellent win on board 1 for Julian but losses on boards 2 and 3 for Grenville and Ernie meant that we got nothing from the match. We are still in 3rd place in the table but are 3 points behind the leaders, Crewe 'D', and have played one game more than them. Click here for last night's match score card.
