The 'B' team started 2017 in the same way that they finished 2016. A 2.5 - 1.5 defeat at the hands of Stafford 'B' was very disappointing. Kasian got us off to a bright start with a very quick win on board 2, but the scores were levelled after Glyn lost on board 1. Ernie then drew his game on board 3 leaving all eyes on Chris on board 4. After being in a totally lost position the roles were reversed when his opponent left a Rook en prise, leaving Chris with what should have been an easily won game. However, he kept forgetting to press his clock and was down to his last couple of minutes when he left a Knight en prise and found himself in a totally lost endgame. We welcome players of all abilities, from beginner to experienced player. We meet on Tuesday evenings from 19:30 until 22:30. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate young children.
