'B' Team Trip Up At Alsager
The 'B' team dropped 2 valuable points at Alsager last night, going down by 3 - 1. The evening started brightly enough when I won a piece after 7 moves in my game on board 1. I then decided to give the piece back for 2 pawns to expose my opponent's King. However, he found some good counterplay and I then blundered by allowing a Pawn to reach the 6th rank and then allowing my Rooks to be skewered. The end wasn't long coming after that !! Mike and Ernie fared little better on boards 2 and 3 and it was left to Robert on board 4 to ensure that we avoided the whitewash. Click here to view the full match score card.
