Fenton Squeeze Through To Next Round Of Perry Trophy
Fenton made it through to the 2nd round of the Perry Trophy by the skin of their teeth against Alsager last night. The visitors took an early lead when Stuart blundered his Queen away on board 4. Ernie then levelled the match with a win on board 2. Alsager took the lead again after Geoff lost on board 1 following the early loss of a piece. However, a fine win by Derek on board 3 took us back to 2 - 2. Board count couldn't separate the two teams so it came down to board elimination and Stuart's tactical loss on board 4 saw us through to the next round !!
