The British Championships have now come to an end and Alex and I are limping home with our tails between our legs.
Alex lost again in the 10th round on Thursday but came back with only his second win of the tournament in yesterday's 11th round to finish on 4 points out of 11.
I played my best game of the tournament on Thursday and got myself into a won position but then lost my nerve and allowed myself to be talked into agreeing a draw. Playing through the game later showed it as a stone cold win. Friday's final match was a debacle as I got completely hammered in 19 moves by the winner of the tournament. This left me in 5th position with 3 points out of 5.
