'C' Team Whitewashed At Alsager

The 'C' team suffered the ignominy of a 4 - 0 whitewash at Alsager 'D' last night. However, the match was much more even than the score suggests as all of the matches were very close. I was unfortunate to come up against a player graded 43 points higher than me on Board 1 and despite struggling for most of the game I won a pawn coming out of the middle game and had a won position. I twice offered my opponent a draw as I was running out of time. He twice declined and my flag duly fell. He said afterwards that had I had more time on my clock he'd have had no hesitation in accepting the draw !! You can click here to view the full match score card.
