Welcome to the Fenton Chess Club website. We are based at the Longton Snooker & Pool Club, 37 Normacot Road, Longton, ST3 1PL. We welcome players of all abilities, from beginner to experienced player. We meet on Tuesday evenings from 19:30 until 22:30. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate young children. Mixed Fortunes In Division 4
There were mixed fortunes for Fenton in our start to the Division 4 season. Fenton 'C' travelled to Meir 'B' and went down by 3.5 - 0.5, our only point coming from a draw by Steve on Board 1. Stuart and Rob West both had winning chances but Rob left himself open to a back rank mate by his opponent's Rook whilst material up in an endgame. Stuart was the exchange up but lost on time. The 'B' team fared somewhat better with a comprehensive win over Holmes Chapel Tiny Pawns by 3-1, our only loss being by Mike Smith on Board 3.
