An under-strength 'C' team took on Alsager 'D' in a crucial Division 4 match. Losses on Boards 1 and 2 for Stuart and Mike left us chasing a point. Fortunately, Geoff and Derek came up trumps on Boards 3 and 4 to salvage a point in a 2-2 draw. Although the point took us back to joint top of Division 4, Cheddleton 'E' now have 2 matches in hand and the title looks to be slipping away from us. All we can do is win our remaining matches and hope for the best.

A Disappointing Night At Alsager
We had 2 fixtures at Alsager last night. The night started badly when Robert West had to withdraw from the the Major Cup Semi-Final at the last minute as his wife was taken to hospital, so we were 1-0 down before we even started. A loss for Ernie on Board 5 left us trailing 2-0. Draws on the top 3 boards for Rob, Derrick and Steve left the final score 3.5 - 1.5 to Alsager and our Cup ambitions over for another year.
