Division 4 Coming To A Climax
The Division 4 season is rapidly approaching it's climax. The 'C' team are 3 points clear with 4 matches left to play. 2 of these matches are at home, in the final 2 matches of the season, against our closest challengers - Cheddleton 'E' and 'F'. If we manage to win these 2 matches, plus the other 2 against Newcastle 'E' and Alsager 'D' then we will finish on 23 points. However, this still may not be enough because, even if we beat the Cheddletons, Cheddleton 'E' could still pip us to the title by 1 point if they win all of their other matches. It could all rest on the performance of the 'D' team, who also have 4 matches left, including 2 against the Cheddletons. It is vital that the 'D' team take points from both of them but, in particular, Cheddleton 'E', in order to help the 'C' team. We need both Captains to put out the strongest possible teams in the remaining matches if Fenton are to take the title for the 4th year in succession. Whatever happens it will be a very close run battle for the Championship between Fenton and the Cheddletons.
