Congratulations to Fenton 'A' on winning the Division 1 Wooden Spoon. A 2-2 draw against Cheddleton 'B' last night cemented our position at the bottom of the table. 3 draws and 5 losses from our 8 matches saw us finish a point below last night's opponents, who also had the distinction of going through the season without a single win. However, an extra drawn match meant that they finished one point ahead of us.
Glyn got an early win on board 4 in last night's match and gave us a glimmer of hope that we might record our first win. Unfortunately, however, it was not to be. Ray missed a win on move 12 (or so he tells me) on board 3 and proceeded to to lose the game. Chris H. got a terrific win on board 2 to put us 2-1 up but, in the absence of Petru, Kas was comprehensively beaten on board 1. Click here to view the match score card.
