A 3-1 defeat at the hands of leaders, Cheddleton 'A', last night meant that we returned to the bottom of the Division by virtue of an inferior game point score to Cheddleton 'B'. With the absence of Petru, yet again, we were forced to field a weaker team, which did not help our cause.
Steve managed to blunder a pawn, and the game, on board 4, in what should have been a drawn endgame. Glyn retrieved the situation with a terrific win on board 3. Unfortunately, although Chris and Ray put up great performances on boards 1 and 2, they were heavily outgraded and eventually succumbed to the inevitable. Click here to view the match scorecard.
