Welcome to the Fenton Chess Club website. We are based at the Longton Snooker & Pool Club, 37 Normacot Road, Longton, ST3 1PL. We welcome players of all abilities, from beginner to experienced player. We meet on Tuesday evenings from 19:30 until 22:30. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate young children. Frodsham Congress
Julian Hawthorne scored a very creditable 2.5/5 in this weekend's Frodsham Congress. After taking a bye in the 1st round he then proceeded to beat players graded 151 and 159 in the 2nd and 3rd rounds to go into the final day in joint 3rd place. Unfortunately it all went pear shaped on the Sunday,where he lost both of his games to finish joint 14th out of 35 entrants. Nonetheless, it was an excellent performance as he was playing in the U160 Section, where he was ranked 29th out of the 35 entrants.
