The 'B' team were held to a 2-2 draw by Kidsgrove for the second time in as many weeks. Wins for Danny and Mike on boards 2 and 3 gave us a share of the points. Click here for the match score card. A win in our final match against second placed Newcastle 'C' next Monday would send us into second place in the Division 3 table but they still have 2 matches in hand of us.

We Are The Champions !!!
After a couple of stumbles in their last few matches the 'A' team finally made it across the line last night. A 3-2 win against Cheddleton 'B', the only team that could catch us, means that we have won the Division 2 Championship for the first time in the Club's history and we have done it with a match to spare. We didn't get off to the best of starts last night, with Petru suffering a rare defeat early on in the match. Max then agreed a draw on board 4, followed by me on board 3, to make it 2-1 to Cheddleton halfway through the evening. However, Glyn and Grenville both played very well to give us wins on boards 2 and 5 and seal the points. Click here for the match score card. Our final 'A' team match of the season is away against Cheddleton 'D' on the 4th May, although this is now purely academic.
