Welcome to the Fenton Chess Club website. We are based at the Longton Snooker & Pool Club, 37 Normacot Road, Longton, ST3 1PL. We welcome players of all abilities, from beginner to experienced player. We meet on Tuesday evenings from 19:30 until 22:30. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate young children. 'A' Team Back To Winning Ways
The 'A' team finally got back on track with a 2.5 - 1.5 win against Kidsgrove last night. Draws for Rob and myself on boards 1 and 3, plus a win on board 2 for Kasian, put us 2 - 1 in front. It then needed a draw from Robert on board 4 to win the match. His opponent was aware he needed to win to draw the match and made a poor sacrifice which cost him a Rook. Rather than play on for the obvious win Robert offered the draw, which was promptly accepted. Click here for the match score card.
