It was a disappointing end to 2016 for the 'A' team last night as we missed the opportunity to close the gap on Newcastle 'D' at the top of Division 3. A 3 - 1 defeat at Meir 'A' means that we are still 3 points adrift and have played a match more than them. There were only draws for Rob and myself on boards 1 and 3, whilst Kas suffered his first loss of the season on board 2 and Robert missed an easy draw on board 4. Click here for the match score card.
It was much better news for the 'C' team though as a 2.5 - 1.5 win against previously unbeaten Crewe 'D' sent them to joint top of Division 5, although we are behind Cheddleton 'G' on game points. Wins for Derek and Chris on boards 2 and 4, plus a draw from Jason on board 3, gave us the points. Click here for the match score card.
The Club's final match of 2016 is this Wednesday, when the 'B' team travel to Crewe 'C' for a Division 4 fixture.
