Welcome to the Fenton Chess Club website. We are based at the Longton Snooker & Pool Club, 37 Normacot Road, Longton, ST3 1PL. We welcome players of all abilities, from beginner to experienced player. We meet on Tuesday evenings from 19:30 until 22:30. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate young children. South Potteries Rapidplay Championship
This afternoon's South Potteries Rapidplay Championship was another very successful event, despite a slightly lower turnout than last year. It ended with Jacob Boswell of Cheddleton retaining the trophy he won last year, with a score of 4.5/6. Also on the same score were Simon Edwards of Cheddleton and Kasian, but Jacob won on the sum of progressive scores tie breaker system. Kasian had an excellent tournament, beating Alex Richardson and drawing with Simon Edwards, the two highest graded players in the competition. His only loss came against the eventual winner. Glyn missed the final round and was given a half point bye, leaving him on 3.5/6. Ernie and I both finished on 3/5, although Ernie won the bragging rights by beating me in the 4th round.
