South Potteries Rapidplay Championship

This afternoon's South Potteries Rapidplay Championship was another very successful event, despite a slightly lower turnout than last year. It ended with Jacob Boswell of Cheddleton retaining the trophy he won last year, with a score of 4.5/6. Also on the same score were Simon Edwards of Cheddleton and Kasian, but Jacob won on the sum of progressive scores tie breaker system.  Kasian had an excellent tournament, beating Alex Richardson and drawing with Simon Edwards, the two highest graded players in the competition. His only loss came against the eventual winner. Glyn missed the final round and was given a half point bye, leaving him on 3.5/6. Ernie and I both finished on 3/5, although Ernie won the bragging rights by beating me in the 4th round. Click here for the cross table of results.
