Club Championship Results
It was a very unsatisfactory end to the 4th round of the Club Championship last night. Kasian beat Brian but 2 more games were defaulted, making 3 games out of 6 defaulted altogether in this round alone. I have never known a season when we have had so many withdrawals and defaults. We need to make changes to the competition next year - maybe switching to a straight knock-out competition with all games played on a set night. It has been suggested that, if any games are drawn using this format, then the lower graded player progresses to the next round. Alternatively, a replay with colours reversed and if this still fails to produce a result then the lower graded player progresses to the next round. However, whatever we do, players must commit to the competition.
