Welcome to the Fenton Chess Club website. We are based at the Longton Snooker & Pool Club, 37 Normacot Road, Longton, ST3 1PL. We welcome players of all abilities, from beginner to experienced player. We meet on Tuesday evenings from 19:30 until 22:30. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate young children. Top Of Table Match Finishes Level
The Division 4 top of the table match last night between Fenton 'B' and Alsager 'B' ended in a 2 - 2 draw. Ernie and Derek on boards 3 and 4 were the Fenton winners. Robert played the same opponent on board 2 for the 3rd time in a fortnight but couldn't replicate his two previous draws. I made a complete hash of my opening on board 1, but then managed to get back into it and actually won a Rook for a Knight. However, I then reverted to type for the rest of the game and managed to make a mess of the ending. Technically I lost on time but my position was lost anyway. Click here for the match score card.
