The 'D' team travelled to Meir 'D', the current Champions and current league leaders, and came away with a good draw. There were wins on the top 2 boards for Mike and Robert. 'A' Team Out Of Luck
The 'A' team had a tough match last night against Holmes Chapel Rooks. We were without both Ray and Rob but put up a terrific before going down by 3-2. Glyn got us off to a good start with a win on board 4. This was followed by draws on boards 2 and 5 for Kasian and Derek. Neal walked into a checkmate on board 3, leaving me needing something out of my game on board 1. This had looked like a draw all evening but my opponent offered a Rook sacrifice which I countered with a Rook sacrifice of my own. After the dust had settled I found myself the exchange down but the game still looked drawn. Unfortunately I was in terrible time trouble and managed to find the moves to lose me the game.
