Welcome to the Fenton Chess Club website. We are based at the Longton Snooker & Pool Club, 37 Normacot Road, Longton, ST3 1PL. We welcome players of all abilities, from beginner to experienced player. We meet on Tuesday evenings from 19:30 until 22:30. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate young children. 'D' Team Beat Title Hopefuls
Bottom of the table Fenton 'D' scored a surprise 3 - 1 win in Division 5 last night against 2nd placed Cheddleton 'K'. An early win by Chris Brian on board 4 got us on our way. However, Cheddleton equalised shortly afterwards with a win on board 2. A win on board 1 from myself put us into the lead and it then only needed a draw from Robert on board 3 to give us the match. He did better than that though and, with a pawn advantage for most of the game, he won a Knight and then promoted a Pawn and secured a win with just a couple of minutes remaining on his clock.
