Welcome to the Fenton Chess Club website. We are based at the Longton Snooker & Pool Club, 37 Normacot Road, Longton, ST3 1PL. We welcome players of all abilities, from beginner to experienced player. We meet on Tuesday evenings from 19:30 until 22:30. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate young children. Fenton Winning Streak Comes To An End
The 'A' team's winning streak came to an end last night when they were held to a 2.5 - 2.5 draw by bottom club Alsager 'A'. In a match that we had high hopes of winning we were disappointingly beaten on the top two boards. However a 16 move grandmaster draw for me on board 3, plus wins for Mike and Geoff on boards 4 and 5, gave us a share of the points. We are still sitting in 5th position, just 2 points behind Cheddleton 'B' and Holmes Chapel Knights, who are in joint 3rd position. With 2 matches left to play we still have an outside chance of improving on this before the end of the season. Click here to view the full score card from last night's match.
