Young Ernie Wilkinson Inspires 'B' Team To Victory
The Ernie Wilkinson-inspired Bully Boys scored their 5th successive win in Division 4 earlier this evening, this time by 2.5 - 1.5 against Newcastle 'E'. They now top the table with 10 points from 5 matches and are 3 points clear of Meir 'B', their nearest rival, and also have a match in hand. Young Ernie was the first to finish on board 4 and then sat there looking smug whilst his team mates tried to emulate him. Rob West was displaying suicidal tendencies in his game on board 3 and eventually succumbed to a very strong attack, leaving the match poised at 1 - 1. However, an extremely well played endgame from Ray Hyde on board 1 put us 2 - 1 up and Derek finished the job by agreeing a draw on board 2 to give us the match.
