NSDCA Doubles Tournament
As you all know, I'm not one to blow my own trumpet but today I feel that I'm justified in adopting my Louis Armstrong persona. Alex and I won the the U320 Section at the NSDCA Doubles tournament this afternoon with a score of 6.5 points, just half a point clear of Rob Taylor and Ray Hyde who were joint second with 6 points. Actually I was more like Alex's wingman as he score 4.5 out of 5 with 4 wins and a draw. I chipped in with 2 points from 4 draws and a loss. However, mine was the last game to finish and I can rightly claim that it was my final draw that gave us the title !! Rob had a great tournament with 4 points from 3 wins and 2 draws. In fact Rob was the only player to take half a point off of Alex. Ray scored 2 points from 2 wins and 3 losses. At the other end of the spectrum, Stuart and Derek, playing in the U220 Section, provided the cannon fodder for the other teams and finished last with a paltry 3.5 points.
