Welcome to the Fenton Chess Club website. We are based at the Longton Snooker & Pool Club, 37 Normacot Road, Longton, ST3 1PL. We welcome players of all abilities, from beginner to experienced player. We meet on Tuesday evenings from 19:30 until 22:30. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate young children. Club Championship
A good turnout at the club last night saw 5 of the 6 outstanding 1st round matches being played. Following Stuart's excellent draw against Danny Griffiths a couple of weeks ago there were further surprises last night when Rob and Ray, the two top graded players in the tournament, were held to draws by Ernie and Jason. This throws everything wide open with the top three players all having dropped half a point against much lower graded opponents. The only outstanding 1st round match is Brian Birchall against Robert West. This is likely to be delayed by a couple of weeks as Brian has to go into hospital for an operation in the next week or so.
