Fenton Retain Division 3 Championship

The Bully Boys retained their Division 3 title with a 2.5 - 1.5 win against Kidsgrove last night. We pipped Stafford to the Championship by a single point. Neal kicked us off with a draw on board 4. He had the advantage of being the exchange up but the position was blocked by pawns and he had to settle for the draw. Rob was in control in his game on board 2 right from the start and gradually squeezed his opponent until his inevitable resignation. This was closely followed by Steve winning on board 3 in another match where he was in control right from the start. This put us in a winning lead and a loss by Danny on board 1 hardly seemed to matter as the title was ours - a scenario that looked distinctly unlikely a couple of weeks ago.
