Another Important Week Looming In Division 3

Although Fenton 'A' are not playing this week there are other matches taking place that will go some way to determining who is left in contention for the Division 3 title. Kidsgrove are playing Holmes Chapel Pawns on Wednesday. A win is a must for them if they are to stay in contention as they have a tough run in to the end of the season, with matches against both Cheddleton 'D' and 'E' and, also, against ourselves. They would need to win all of these matches to have any chance and it's doubtful whether they have the strength in depth to do this. Cheddleton 'E' are virtually out of the hunt as they are running out of games and are too far behind. However, they will prove a tough test for 2nd placed Stafford 'B' on Friday. Failure to win this one by Stafford would seriously hamper their chances as they would have used up one of their 2 matches in hand of Fenton. Cheddleton 'D' still look to be strong contenders and it could depend on how strong a team Meir 'A' can muster on Friday. At their strongest Meir are a match for anybody in the Division. Once again, Cheddleton 'D' can't afford to slip up as they would also have used up one of their matches in hand. It's all pointing to an exciting climax to the season in what is, arguably, the most competitive of the Divisions. Can the Bully Boys hold their nerve in their final 2 matches to cling on to the title we won last season ? Don't go down to William Hill's just yet !!

On Friday evening the No Hopers will be trying to do the 'B' team a favour by getting something out of their Division 4 match against 2nd in the table Cheddleton 'G'. We are fielding our strongest possible team, including the Captain, who has been resting for the past 3 matches, and just returning from his exploits on Saturday afternoon when he single handedly won the MCCU U140 Championship for Staffs !!
