It was another good night for the club last night. The 'A' team extended their lead at the top of Division 3 to 4 points with a 2.5 - 1.5 win at Holmes Chapel Pawns. There are now only 3 matches left to play and our fate is entirely in our own hands. We just need a final push to get us over the line to retain the title we won last year. Rob and Jason, playing on boards 1 and 4, both won their games and Geoff, playing on board 3, got the draw that won us the match. The 'C' team continued their recent run of good form with a 2 - 2 draw at home to Alsager 'C'. It's probably just coincidence that the Captain has been missing from the starting lineup in the last 3 games !! Skippy continues to astound us by being unbeatable, with an excellent draw on board 2. The Finance Director chipped in with another half point on board 4 and Robert West won on board 3 to give us a share of the points. Mike was heavily outgraded on board 1 and inevitably lost. We welcome players of all abilities, from beginner to experienced player. We meet on Tuesday evenings from 19:30 until 22:30. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate young children.
