Welcome to the Fenton Chess Club website. We are based at the Longton Snooker & Pool Club, 37 Normacot Road, Longton, ST3 1PL. We welcome players of all abilities, from beginner to experienced player. We meet on Tuesday evenings from 19:30 until 22:30. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate young children. 2 Out Of 2 For Fenton
We got off to a great start at our new venue last night with wins for both the 'B' and 'C' teams in Division 4. The 'B' team looked to be struggling against lowly Newcastle 'E' at one point but managed to turn things around and run out 3 - 1 winners. Wins on boards 3 and 4 by Mike and Derek secured the points for Fenton, with draws on boards 1 and 2 for Rob and Geoff. The 'B' team are still unbeaten this season and are in 3rd place in the table but with 2 games in hand of the teams above them. You can click here to view the full score card. The 'C' team beat bottom placed Holmes Chapel Tiny Pawns by 2.5 - 1.5, courtesy of wins by Ernie and Steven and a draw for Jason. Whilst this win didn't improve our league position it did pull us further away from the bottom of the table. You can click here to view the full score card.
