Welcome to the Fenton Chess Club website. We are based at the Longton Snooker & Pool Club, 37 Normacot Road, Longton, ST3 1PL. We welcome players of all abilities, from beginner to experienced player. We meet on Tuesday evenings from 19:30 until 22:30. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate young children. Jumping The Gun
I appear to have jumped the gun in suggesting that Rob Taylor's win against Steve Hill of Meir put him in the lead for the Performance Of The Year award. That particular honour, for the time being at least, is headed in the direction of Geoff Yates for his win against Steve Brown of Alsager. Rob's opponent was graded 23 points higher than him but Geoff's opponent was graded 28 points higher than him. If you're reading this Rob then sorry to have got your hopes up - you'll just have to beat Alan Paling the next time you play him !!
