Welcome to the Fenton Chess Club website. We are based at the Longton Snooker & Pool Club, 37 Normacot Road, Longton, ST3 1PL. We welcome players of all abilities, from beginner to experienced player. We meet on Tuesday evenings from 19:30 until 22:30. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate young children. 'A' Team End 2012 With A Draw
The 'A' team ended the year with a 2 - 2 draw in Division 3 against fellow title contenders Newcastle 'D'. We now sit in joint 4th place in the table but only 2 points separate the top 5 teams and we have a game in hand over 2 of them. Geoff kicked the evening off with a draw on Board 3 and I then put us into the lead with a win on Board 2. My opponent is probably still kicking himself as I offered him a draw 4 times during the game !! Had he accepted we'd have lost the match. Rob drew on Board 1 to ensure that we took at least a point out of the match but Jason was unable to get anything out of his game on Board 4 so it ended up all square.
