Welcome to the Fenton Chess Club website. We are based at the Longton Snooker & Pool Club, 37 Normacot Road, Longton, ST3 1PL. We welcome players of all abilities, from beginner to experienced player. We meet on Tuesday evenings from 19:30 until 22:30. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate young children. Fenton Fail In The Final
There was disappointment for Fenton last night when we were well beaten 3.5 - 0.5 by the youngsters of Cheddleton in the Final of the Perry Trophy. Geoff's draw on Board 2 was the only bright spot of the evening, while Neal decided to use the Final to lose his unbeaten record !! This was our 2nd cup defeat in a week and the heady promise of multiple trophies a week ago is rapidly receding and we now only have 3 left to play for - the Division 3 title, the Jackson Trophy and the National Minor Club Championship - to avoid a season devoid of silverware for the first time in several years.
