Welcome to the Fenton Chess Club website. We are based at the Longton Snooker & Pool Club, 37 Normacot Road, Longton, ST3 1PL. We welcome players of all abilities, from beginner to experienced player. We meet on Tuesday evenings from 19:30 until 22:30. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate young children. 'B' Team Result Undecided
The 'B' team travelled to Cheddleton 'D' last night for the clash between the top two teams in Division 3. Early draws on Boards 2 and 3 by Derrick and Steve made the score 1-1. Geoff then recovered from a pawn down, and a seemingly inferior position, to score yet another win in his 30th match of the season, to put us 2-1 up. Rob ran out of time in his game on Board 1, but we are claiming a draw on the basis that his opponent was making no attempt to win the game. If our claim is upheld we will win the match 2.5 - 1.5 but, at the very least, we will have drawn the match and remain 2 points behind Cheddleton with 2 matches in hand. If our claim is upheld we will be level on points and with 2 matches in hand.
