Welcome to the Fenton Chess Club website. We are based at the Longton Snooker & Pool Club, 37 Normacot Road, Longton, ST3 1PL. We welcome players of all abilities, from beginner to experienced player. We meet on Tuesday evenings from 19:30 until 22:30. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate young children. Fenton Unable To Save The U140's
The Fenton contingent of Rob, Derrick and Steve were unable to prevent the County U140 team being mauled 12 - 4 by Nottinghamshire yesterday. The only bright spot was that Rob was one of only 2 players in the team to win their game. Steve and Derrick both lost. Derrick was obviously influenced by Rob's recent loss at Holmes Chapel because he left his Queen en prise. Steve had a lost position after 18 moves but managed to fight back and cling on until move 74 before conceding. A miserable afternoon was compounded by the drive home in the snow. A two hour delay on the A50 meant that we got home at 10:00 that night - a 5 hour journey !!
