Welcome to the Fenton Chess Club website. We are based at the Longton Snooker & Pool Club, 37 Normacot Road, Longton, ST3 1PL. We welcome players of all abilities, from beginner to experienced player. We meet on Tuesday evenings from 19:30 until 22:30. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate young children. Fenton Win Opening Match In National Minor Club Championship
Fenton won their opening match in Group B of the National Minor Club Championship with an excellent 2.5 - 1.5 away win at the current Champions, Bushbury from the Wolverhampton League. Things started badly for Fenton though when Geoff lost on Board 3 after only 35 minutes. However, Rob and Derrick won on Boards 1 and 4 respectively to put us 2-1 up and needing a draw from the last game to give us the match. Steve, playing on Board 2, duly obliged and the match was ours. You can click here to view the full score card. Our next fixture in the competition is a home match against Syston from the Leicestershire League on a date still to be arranged. If we manage to win this match we will be guaranteed a place in the Final against the winners of Group A.
