I'm reliably informed by Pete Tideswell, our longest serving member, that our recent match against Cheddleton wasn't our first time of playing in the Open Cup. Back in 2004, when it was known as the 8 Board Cup, we beat Kidsgrove 6.5 - 1.5 in the 1st Round and were then beaten 8 - 0 by Cheddleton in the Semi-Final. In 2005 we were beaten 4.5 - 3.5 in the 1st Round by the now defunct Broughton Arms. In 2006 we were beaten 7 - 1 by Newcastle in the 1st Round. Welcome to the Fenton Chess Club website. We are based at the Longton Snooker & Pool Club, 37 Normacot Road, Longton, ST3 1PL. We welcome players of all abilities, from beginner to experienced player. We meet on Tuesday evenings from 19:30 until 22:30. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate young children.
