Welcome to the Fenton Chess Club website. We are based at the Longton Snooker & Pool Club, 37 Normacot Road, Longton, ST3 1PL. We welcome players of all abilities, from beginner to experienced player. We meet on Tuesday evenings from 19:30 until 22:30. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate young children. 'A' Team Slip Up At Kidsgrove
The 'A' team missed the opportunity to go top of Division 3 last night, losing by 2.5 - 1.5 at Kidsgrove. However, we still have a match in hand of Meir and are only a point away. Our next match now takes on more importance as it is against 3rd placed Cheddleton 'F', who are only 2 points behind us but have 2 matches in hand. I'm sorry to have to report that it was yours truly who let the side down last night, losing on board 3 after an ill advised attempt to play the Kings Gambit - something I won't be doing again.
