Welcome to the Fenton Chess Club website. We are based at the Longton Snooker & Pool Club, 37 Normacot Road, Longton, ST3 1PL. We welcome players of all abilities, from beginner to experienced player. We meet on Tuesday evenings from 19:30 until 22:30. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate young children. How The Mighty Are Fallen
It was an embarrassing evening for the Chief Executive last night. Playing with White against Joe Orsolics in the 1st Round of the Club Championship I blundered a Knight for a Pawn and looked on the verge of losing. Joe couldn't believe his luck but, fortunately for me, he didn't have the nerve to go for the win and settled for a draw by perpetual check. All of this was much to the amusement of everybody else at the club. I then followed this up by losing a friendly to young Edward Brian, providing more merriment all round !!!
