Fenton 'A' and 'B' were both in action last night. It was a good night for the club with both teams winning.
The 'A' team beat Cheddleton 'F' by 3-1. There were good wins for Ray, Rob and Kas on boards 1,2 and 3. The non-appearance of Mike Smith meant that the Finance Director had to step in and was unlucky to lose his game on board 4. You can click here to view the full match scorecard. We are still 3 points behind Meir 'A' in Division 3 but have 2 matches in hand so there is everything still to play for.
The 'B' team beat Alsager 'C' by 2.5 - 1.5, courtesy of a win by Rob West on board 4. The other 3 matches were all drawn, although Ernie sportingly gave his opponent a draw while a piece and a pawn up in order to secure the points. You can click here to view the full match scorecard. Welcome to the Fenton Chess Club website. We are based at the Longton Snooker & Pool Club, 37 Normacot Road, Longton, ST3 1PL. We welcome players of all abilities, from beginner to experienced player. We meet on Tuesday evenings from 19:30 until 22:30. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate young children.
