Welcome to the Fenton Chess Club website. We are based at the Longton Snooker & Pool Club, 37 Normacot Road, Longton, ST3 1PL. We welcome players of all abilities, from beginner to experienced player. We meet on Tuesday evenings from 19:30 until 22:30. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate young children. Fenton 'A' Beat The Champions
Fenton 'A' travelled to Macclesfield, the newly crowned Division 2 Champions, last night and came away with an excellent, if unexpected, 3.5 - 1.5 victory. Early wins for myself and Mike on boards 3 and 4, plus a draw for Ernie on board 5, put us into a 2.5 - 0.5 lead and needing only a draw to win the match. With time running down for both Alex and his opponent on board 1 it was his opponent who blinked first, allowing Alex to pin his Queen against his King, giving us the match.
